Anca Gurzu

Anca Gurzu is an energy reporter based in Brussels. Prior to joining POLITICO, she worked for Europolitics, where she covered European energy policy for two years. Before moving to Brussels in 2013, Anca covered Canadian external relations in Ottawa for Embassy News, a foreign policy publication. She reported extensively on the Canada-EU trade negations, while also specializing in migration and refugee reporting. Throughout her journalistic career, she also gained experience working in TV and radio.

Anca is one of three yearly national winners of the Canada-EU Young Journalist Award. She holds a master’s degree in European, Russian and Eurasian studies from Carleton University in Ottawa and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the same university.
